Welcome Friends & Family!
I have created this website so that you and I can work together to create the perfect gift for your loved one.
Thank you for trusting me to work with you so we can create a one-of-a-kind piece of art. Over the years of creating gourd art and other crafty things, the one thing that I find the most rewarding, is putting a bit of the recipient into the art piece. If they love dragonflies…then I put a dragonfly on it… if they love Lake Tahoe, then, I put Lake Tahoe on it… and I’ll do it skillfully, beautifully and with love.
Please spend some time here checking out what your options are… you can choose a decorative bowl, a djembe style drum, a holiday “gourdament”, or a wall hanging. If you are local, you can also schedule a one-on-one class with me at my home, where I will teach you how to create your own gourd masterpiece!
Thanks again for coming here to check out my stuff, and I look forward to working with you!
what is a gourd?
Gourds may be one of the oldest cultivated plants, originally grown to make storage containers and utensils. Although some varieties are edible when the fruit is young, most people grow them for their decorative qualities. Gourds are members of the Cucurbit family, which includes cucumbers, squash and melons. The long vines make attractive garden plants that readily climb fences, trellises and arbors.
I like using them, because I always wanted to work with wood – and these are very close! Anything you can do to wood, you can do to a gourd: carve, wood burn & stain!
