Hi! I'm diann...

I currently live in Twain Harte, CA and I am an outdoor educator and nature lover. One of my favorite hobbies is creating Gourd Art!

I first learned about gourds about 20 years ago when my friend Heather showed me one she had embellished with pine needles… I saw it, and said “what’s that?!!”

She told me all about them and where to buy them.  I took some classes down there – at the Welburn Gourd Farm, and I was instantly hooked!

What i love about gourds...

I love working with my hands and have always wanted to work with wood.  That never panned out, but discovering gourds has filled that niche.  I love that you can sand them, carve them, wood burn them, stain them, paint them…. they are a wood-like canvas, and allow for so many creative options!  I love turning these plants into lovely pieces of art!

My favorite part about it, is when someone asks me to make a personalized piece… something that challenges me. Someone once asked me to make a gourdament with a logging truck… that was a first!

Over the years, I’ve had friends and family ask me to make personalized/custom gourds for them for wedding gifts, anniversary gifts, holiday ornaments, and more.  I needed a place to show you what’s possible and give you a way to place an order.
